Tilting Trains

The tilting trains are in use since 1960s, but their actual benefit is achieved by the latest technological innovations. This tilting train concept is basically came into existence to avoid the passengers discomfort. When the train is turning in a curve, it produces a substantial centrifugal force towards the outside of the circle. When the train is tilted in the curve, the inner force developed will balance the outer centrifugal force and the passengers discomfort is reduced. Improved boogies design and the power steering technologies provided facility for tilting train to perform well in the existing track itself.
