Reason : I had many experiences like this. I have witnessed many people who told all truth after sparing the rod. Usually in TamilNadu, there is a huge respect for rod.

Support : This is the most happening treatment. Every one will pay much attention for a happy living. They wont like to get disturbed due to some unwanted attacks. So this is a right way to get the work done.

Explanation : Whenever a person is not supporting your side or work, the best way to incline him to your side is to force him to do so. Physical attack is the best way suggested by this proverb. So if you hit him hard, he will do the favor.
